Just in time for the upcoming Trigg TourGood picture. You were right about the work being completed. I just saw a KFVS story that it would be reopening.
Actually, I think, yes. The Cumberland County Covered Bridge over the Embarras River at Greenup, Illinois is open to vehicles I think. It's a modern reconstruction of two older bridges that were washed out, but it is the longest covered bridge in Illinois at 200 feet. Read about it here. It says there are no weight restrictions. I expect they basically built a wooden top over a modern steel and concrete bridge. It does look good in the pictures, though. I haven't been to it, but I think it's visible from I-70.Are there any near that we can still drive through that you know of?
Thank you for commenting on my YouTube videos.I left some additional comments about the mill and bridge to your new video about the site on YouTube.
Was the Tunnel Hill bridge north of Harrisburg replaced? It was in bad shape 2 years ago.I love that bike trail! Hard to believe the Big Muddy was used to fill Rend Lake which is used for drinking water. Yuck. LOL
Yep. The city maintains that section of the trail. It's technically not even tunnel hill. But they did replace it.Was the Tunnel Hill bridge north of Harrisburg replaced? It was in bad shape 2 years ago.
