Driskill Mtn is the highpoint in the state of Louisiana. It is only 535 ft above sea level. This is the lowest highpoint I have been to. The trail is a 1.8 mile out and back. It is private property but open to the public. It is located in the NW corner of the state.

I've hiked in Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Utah, and Colorado. Colorado is the highest elevation I've hiked, I think Blanca Peak is as high as I've ever hiked. I need to acclimate to anything over 12,500'. I've hiked La Plata too, it was a sufferfest.

Likewise my tallest peak is a little over 14,000 ft. I have to watch elevation sickness at about 9,000 ft. If I don't get my heart rate up I can keep going, so just have to go painfully slow, about 1.5 mph

Woodall Mountain, Mississippi high point, elevation 806 feet, is located near Iuka, Mississippi in the far northeast corner of the state. This hill is privately owned, but is open to the public. It is located just of the highway and is a short walk.woodall mtn.webp

Oklahoma High Point, found in the NW corner of the state on the Black Mesa Nature Preserve. Elevation 4,973 ft. The trail is an 8.8 mile out and back and gains 750 ft in elevation gain. Beautiful hike. And after your done their is a short walk just north of here with dinosaur tracks.IMG_0423.JPGIMG_0425.JPGIMG_0439.JPGIMG_0441.JPGIMG_0486.JPGIMG_0493.JPGIMG_0498.JPG

I have never hiked in other countries, but I have been to most of the popular hiking destinations in my home county. The highest elevation I have ever been to was in Thorangla Pass, which is at 5400 meters in Annapurna mountain range.

If you could hike in another country, would you?

High point Nebraska; Panorama Point 2.5 mile out and back trail, elevation 5429 ft. Private property but owner allows access, asks for a $3 donation. That makes 10 I have visited.
