In Missouri it is Taum Sauk mountain, elevation is 1,772 ft. It is reachable by the Taum Sauk mountain high point .4 mile trail.

I took Boy Scouts on a backpacking trip to climb to the state’s high point, the tallest mountain. We hiked about seven miles on the Ozark trail, camped got up the next morning and continued about 2 more miles and reached the high point. After we got there they found out they could of drove there , parked, and got there in a 10 minute walk from the parking lot! They were all ready to kill me😄

Texas highpoint, Guadeloupe Mountain, elevation 8743' To reach it have to tackle an 8 mile out and back trail with an elevation gain of about 2,500 ft. I did this one I think in 2019.

I want to hike Denali! Chicken out ridge to the Idaho high point sounds pretty fun too
What's the highest point in Indiana? Is it hikeable? I hear the Illinois one is but it's on private property and you have to get permission.

Hoosier Hill is Indiana's high point, elevation is 1,257. It is a short .4 mile out and back. It's on private property but open to the public. Did it back in 2019. Some times you do it for the fame:) Sure was nothing to see except a farmer working his field.

There's a really common out here in Utah County, Utah called Mount Timpanogos. I did it a few years ago and it was so brutal I don't really want to go back until I'm more in shape. Trailhead Elevation is 7,360' and you gain about 4,000 feel during the hike over 14 miles of beautiful pine mountains.

Oh, no it's not. Sorry I misunderstood. The highest point in Utah is actually Kings Peak in the Uintas. Yes I'm from Utah.
Which trails have you done?

I am going to have to check out Chicken out ridge to Idaho High Point. Just the name does make it sound fun.

Its a Long list. In Salt Lake, like everyone, I did Ensign Peak. Did City Park. The others in Salt Lake area were up Big Cottonwood Canyon. I love the desert so most of my 200 Utah trails are in southern Utah. Love the Escalante Area. Done a number of slots Like Peek A Boo and Spooky. and of course the national parks down south.

Wow you've done so much! I'm up north in the Salt Lake area—actually doing some lake hikes in Big Cottonwood Canyon tomorrow!
I've always wanted to go south to explore the escalante area. Really jealous you've had that experience. That's definitely one area I know very little about.

I do love the chiller feelings of Bryce Canyon and Capital Reef—the other 3 parks are really busy now. Where would you recommend going to explore the Escalante area?

Absolutely! I would time it in the fall and mid-spring to beat the heat. I generally hike the area in April-May. South of Escalante is the Hole in the Rock road, absolutely the best Utah has to offer - a large number of varied trails. For a teaser, the pic is "the Cosmic Ashtray" The bowl is the size of a professional football stadium. It is a 11 mile loop to the ashtray and you return via a slot canyon.

Wow. This is SO cool. So there's a bunch of trails to do off the Hole in the Rock road? I'll have to check out this Cosmic Ashtray.

Yes, a large number. None will disappoint. All total, I have spent about two weeks accessing trails off the road. Pic attached is Stephen's arch 14th largest in the world. the arch is about 200 ft wide. I hiked to it to stand underneath.

I have the trail already on my future to do list. Where did it get its name chicken out ridge, do you know?
I think it's the exposure, but I'm not sure. It didn't look too bad in the video I watched!
