I've always been a day hiker, but want to try overnight backpacking.
My son is crossing over to Boy Scouts next month, so I plan to do some overnights with him and the scouts this year.

We did a 2-night, 18 mile trek at Sand Ridge State Forest towards the end of the '24 season and are so hooked!

It's so fun! (And also challenged me) I really like the feeling of it - a submersion into nature of sorts

Trying to do more wilderness hikes this year (starting with Panther's Den), but also new for us will be Denali in June.

Panther Den is really nice. It's a good starter wilderness!
