Is Riding Two Abreast Selfish or a Right?

How do you feel about riding two abreast on a road bike?

Now, I'm talking on the highway with other vehicles. Some groups will form a single-file line and position themselves as close to the right as possible when cars are approaching. However, some riders will hold their position and ride two abreast, forcing vehicles to move further into the other lane to pass them or drive slowly behind them.

I'm interested in seeing your thoughts on this. Why do you feel the way you do?
