Trail Running Ever met a horse?

Have you ever been trail running and ran into a horseback rider?

Do you feel like runners and horseback riders have issues or can they share the trail without any issues?

I scared a horse while I was running one time, it almost threw the lady riding. I yelled hello from about 20' behind them (as soon as I saw them), and the horse freaked out. I've never had that happen when I was hiking.

I've seen them freak out while hiking.

But for some reason trail runners and mountain bikers freak them out the most.

I've considered wearing a bear bell just for the horseback riders when out trail running or mountain biking!
