Do you just go searching for routes?

I live in a rural area of my county.

There is a lot of wooded area, including National Forest with forest service roads, as well as gravel and dirt farm roads.

I could find gravel routes all day long.

Can you do this in your area? If so, do you try to do this?

I've always been an explorer right from my childhood days. This made it so easier for me to dive into routes most bikers would be very skeptical to take on. Currently, I'm living in the city and there's no much of such routes but whenever I go see my parents where they are living in the rural part of the state, there's so much routes for me to explore.

It's absolutely safer to ride in rural areas compared to the city. There are few cases of accidents involving cars and bikes in there than what we experience in the city. It's like drivers here have a thing against bikers.

I totally agree

I live in a rural area so it's pretty bike-friendly. I'm usually riding faster than the farmers on tractors. They all know me so they wave and are friendly. Heck, a lot of them ride bikes, too.

The feeling is completely different when you're riding in the rural areas compared to the city. The smell of the grass with fresh dew on it in the morning is pure bliss. You're never going to get that in the city.

I try to pick area with a lot of forest on both sides, too. I'm lucky enough to live in the middle of a National Forest so I have a lot of access to those types of areas.

This is one of my reasons for always never ruling out going back to the rural part where my parents are staying because mehn, it's too peaceful, more enjoyable and less stressful. The only difference with being in the city is having more means to make money

Yeah, that's just it. Eventually, I wouldn't do this for long because I can't strain myself too much for the rest of my life. Time will come when I will have to call it and move back home.
