Hiking Trail Recommendations in California & San Diego

Been out in the woods this last week. So it’s why I have been quite 😊 Did my first trip to California back in March. I am biased because I love the desert. First the bad, gas was well over $6 a gallon- just shocked. That aside I did Joshua Tree NP and area. Just gorgeous. But don’t behave...

    Do you like elevation gain?

I don’t hike for the elevation gain but for the destination. But, yes elevation is fun. I prefer elevation gain over descent anytime.

Did 30 plus miles over the weekend along the east bank of the Missouri. Trails had a lot of elevation gain, thought I was back in the Grand Canyon.

Day Hiking Palo Duro Canyon SP, Texas

Funny, while we were there, Bison, the red haired dog in the pic was about 40’ in front of me and rounded a corner before I did. I heard a loud gasp! A couple saw Bison round the corner and thought he was a mountain 🦁

Is anyone into haunted house attractions at all?

With my looks if I went in a haunted house they would lock me up in there thinking I was one of the props! Haunted houses really haven't been an attraction to me.

When does Graffiti become Rock Art?

When does Graffiti become rock art? Age? Author or artist have a bearing? I captured this vandalism, Graffiti, shortly after it happened. I named it the bleeding heart. The sap is still running from the knife wound on the cedart tree. It is clearly graffiti or vandalism. Now the...

Do you keep a hiking journal?

My journal is just pictorial. I record trail name, location, miles and year, then pics. Pedestal Rocks trail, Arkansas. 2.5 miles. Did first time in 2014, then 15, 17, & 21. Revisiting a trail while taking others is like visiting an old friend. Lake Sylvan, Custer SP, South Dakota, 1.1...
