Where was this one at? I've never seen one. They look very distinctive and easy to identify with the narrow head and red markings below.
Snake Road.

The types spend 95% of their lives in mud caught up in roots and such, looking for Sirens which is what they love to eat. They're a crown jewel of "herpers" which is what snake enthusiasts call themselves. It's rare to see them, too. You can a better chance of seeing rattlesnakes than the mud snake.
