Have you ever been sick on the trail?

Was this before you started the hike or during it?

What type of sickness was it? Did you have to end the hike or overcome it on trail?

I get altitude sickness, the older I get the worse it gets. The worst I've ever had was on the Sawtooth Ridge between Mt. Beirstadt and Mt. Evans, I was sick before I started the traverse but I pushed it anyway. I couldn't make the Mt. Evans summit and had to hike back through the willows as soon as I was off the ridge.

I haven't been sick on the trail, but I have developed some nasty headaches shortly after finishing hikes. I don't think it's dehydration or lack of sun protection (long sleeve, pants, wide brim hat, sunglasses). Haven't had to stop a hike because of it.

They make medicine for that, don't they? Have you ever tried it?

You might be suffering from sinus issues from all the pollen and stuff in the air. I'd take an antihistamine overnight before your hike to see if that works. That's what I do and it's really helped me out.
