Do we have any AT hikers on the forum?

Section, thru-hike, etc?

Does anyone plan to hike the AT at some point?

Me and my wife did a few miles of it from Kuwohi (formerly Clingmans Done).

Vote on the poll and reply!

I have touched the Appalachian trail a few times for a few miles here and there. With my busy lifestyle with family, friends and church I don't ever see taking months off to hike it. It has always interested me but just not practical. I am content to do special scenic areas across the country.

These pics are of Janes Bald on the Appalachian trail from a couple years ago. This is literally on the border between Tennessee and N. Carolina.

We want to section hike it. Maybe take off two week and hike it for a week with some rest days thrown in.

Sadly, it looks like no one is going to be hiking a large section of the AT right now.

It is going to be interesting the end of next week heading to Georgia. Really getting mixed answers on what I am going to find. Worse case I am going to shift my hiking to far west Georgia or into Alabama.

Just be safe out there. See you when you get back :)

I have heard of Appalachian Trail but I have never been to the United States, so never been to this hiking trail. By the way, what are the major attractions of this hiking trail?

There are many. A lot of the mountain tops are the big ones. The one I was at was Clingmans Dome which has been renamed to Kuwohi because it's the original Native American name. It's the highest mountain in Great Smoky Mountains and it right on the AT. I think it's a bit over 6,600 feet in elevation.
