What has been the worst experience you've ever had while on a hiking trail?

What have you done to ensure that experience never happens again if applicable?
 
I don’t know if I have had a bad experience. What should of been for sane people is I got caught in an unexpected thunderstorm with tornado like winds and torrential downpours, problem is I loved it. It was about an hour finishing the trail.
