Plan your lodging before or wing it?

Before you go on a cycling adventure bikepacking or touring, do you get your lodging figured out and booked before the trip?

Or are you one who waits to figure it out while on your trip?

As long as there is National Forest or campgrounds around, I'll usually plan while riding unless it's a holiday weekend.
