Have you ever bought any gear because of the hype of getting the gear but only ended up regretting it?

I sure did. I bought the drone by GoPro when it first came out. I saw that everyone was getting it. But I never used it. GoPro quickly abandoned the drone product because it randomly falls out of the sky. That was an expensive impulse buy.

How about you all? Any bad buys because of the hype?
