How Can Cycling Improve Fitness?

I used to think cycling was just for strengthening, but it’s a full-body workout once you start to do it on a regular basis. My stamina shot up in just a couple of months, and I started noticing that I can climb stairs now without stress unlike before. It's even easier on the knees than running. Do you ride mostly for fitness or just for the fun of it?
 
A mix of both for me.

I definitely push it to get my heart racing and calories burning.

But the main reason I bike is for the adventure. Nonetheless though, you're getting exercise from cycling whether you're doing it for fitness or fun. That's the great thing about cycling.
