Hiking with smoke

How do you feel about hiking with smoke in the air?

I'm not speaking of hiking somewhere where a wildland fire is threatening your safety. I speak more about hiking in a safe area, not being threatened by a fire but still smokey from some other fire that's occurring or even the aftermath left behind from a previous fire.

Are you able to hike with smoke in the air, or does it get to you?
 
I don't like hiking when it's smokey but it seems more and more common. It smells and it messes up your pictures.
 
It messes up my sinuses. I understand why they do it but it's getting harder and harder to recreate with it.
