Hello everyone, so excited to join a group that loves hiking and the outdoors as much as I do. My name is Cindy Banchy and I grew up on a farm in Wisconsin where my love of the land started at a very early age.
I've gotten into adventure hiking in different parts of the world: Chile, Argentina, New Zealand, Tanzania, Portugal, England, ...... Anyway, I've set a new goal about 3 years ago of trekking 50 trails in 50 countries of 50 miles or more in 20 years! And I'm turning 65 next week so I'd better get going. Actually I'm about 4 hikes into the goal. But I'd better get going! I'm off to Mont Blanc in July.
I'm really looking forward to exchanging ideas and learning from folks way more experienced than I am. I'm always open to suggestions on a good, solid adventure as well. I'm also happy to share anything that I can on any of the hikes I've been on. Lord knows I've made my share of mistakes.
