Do you carry a first aid kit at all while hiking?

What brand of kit do you carry? What do you carry in it? Have you added any sort of custom supplies?

Have you ever had to use any of your kit before?

Yes I carry, modest if day hiking, a little more on backpacking trips, and I carry a larger one in the jeep. . My kit is homemade.
As far as custom supplies, not really. but, if I am hiking with someone I invited to join me, I require them to carry three days supplies of their medicines, if any, even on a day hike.

Did boy scouts for 40 years. I am Red Cross CPR and first aid trained, and trained wilderness first aid. I have treated alot of blisters on scouts. warded off heat exhaustion on the boys. Worst was applying butterfly bandages on a head wound from a fall. Moms always hated me, I told them we haven't had any fun unless some one bleeds.

I don't carry anything I don't know how to use, so I got tweezers, scissors, tape, wipes, antiseptic ointment and a lot of bandages. Only thing I've ever used was the tweezers, I got a bad splinter under my fingernail at High Knob in the SNF.
