Bear or Mountain Lions

What would you rather hike in?

Bear country or mountain lion country?

What if the bear was black bear or grizzly? Would that change your opinion?

I really think the mountain lions could be more of a threat. You hear about them stalking and attacking hikers and bicycle riders occasionally in places where they have established populations, usually in the mountainous regions of the West. Bears, especially grizzlies, are dangerous too, obviously, but it seems like they are mostly attracted to food a hiker or camper might have and aren't as likely to attack humans unless they are surprised or threatened.
