Do you carry the 10 essentials of hiking?

They are commonly:
  1. Navigation tools (GPS app, paper map, compass)
  2. Sun protection (hat, sunscreen, UPF clothing)
  3. Insulation (weather-appropriate clothing)
  4. Illumination (headlamp)
  5. First aid supplies
  6. Knife or multi-tool
  7. Fire-starting equipment
  8. Emergency shelter
  9. Extra food
  10. Plenty of water
Do you carry each of these?

What further essentials would you add to this list?

Always good to carry more water than you might need. I tend to underestimate how much water I drink.

I try to carry enough water to last be all night if need be, if rationed, but I also carry a filter. In a pinch, I'll filter stagnate water if I have to. Maybe filter it, 2-3 times.
