    Moderate Yellow Birch Ravine

This nature preserve has limited gravel parking on the side of Trestle Road, the 'trail system' follows the creek on either side of the road. To the east are a couple waterfalls and Ravine Arch, one of the biggest arches in Indiana. To the west of the parking is the double falls, another of the...

    Toughest Trail Completed

I tried the 'skyline traverse' in the Boulder, Co Flatirons, i didn't finish it! I got to the 4th mountain peak, and my average pace was under 3mph, that's not great for a run!

    First experience

Wolf Cave at McCormick Creek State park was my 1st wild cave, it's easy and short. I liked everything about it. My favorite part was where I was ready to turn around at the exit crawl, because it looked horrible, but I heard a guy say he was standing outside! I crawled out and it wasn't that bad.

    Shoes last

I have to buy 2-3 pairs of running shoes a year, I put over 700 miles on them. They're ok up to 1,000 but not really.

    Stuck in a Cave

Has anyone ever gotten stuck in a cave? I've been stuck a bunch of times, but I've always managed to get out. A big part of caving is getting stuck and unstuck.

    Lost in a cave

I've never been lost in a cave, but I never know where I am! Maps are kinda hard to read and unreliable. Route descriptions are very helpful, but they're not maps.

    Half Tights

I ran to Herod and then High Kbib and back. I only heard 1 shot east of High Knob.

    Half Tights

I ran in half tights at Garden of the Gods today, have you heard the yellow polka dot bikini song? In the forest I wanted to stay.

Are you ready for the winter?

My fingers get numb, it's really annoying. I've never tried hand warmers.

Weekly Photo Theme Recent Northern Lights

I read we're at solar maximum right now, and we've gotten better at detecting solar storms. There's also all that chemtrail talk.

Harrison Spring is the biggest, I have not been. Here's Boiling Spring at Wesley Chapel Gulf, the 3rd biggest spring in Indiana and a true rise of the Lost River.

    Boots are most important

I don't have any hiking boots anymore! I should probably get a new pair, but Ive been comfortable hiking in trail runners. I cave in trail runners too.

They're rentals, you rent boots and a hiking pole for The Narrows bottom up hike. I think the 'hiking pole' is the stick at the top, I threw it up there.
