Hoosier Hill is Indiana's high point, elevation is 1,257. It is a short .4 mile out and back. It's on private property but open to the public. Did it back in 2019. Some times you do it for the fame:) Sure was nothing to see except a farmer working his field.
Texas highpoint, Guadeloupe Mountain, elevation 8743' To reach it have to tackle an 8 mile out and back trail with an elevation gain of about 2,500 ft. I did this one I think in 2019.
In Missouri it is Taum Sauk mountain, elevation is 1,772 ft. It is reachable by the Taum Sauk mountain high point .4 mile trail.

I did 4 miles today.
I was out canoeing many years ago with the boy scouts and after we setup camp the first night, I then had to paddle up stream to pickup a boy arriving late. That solo paddle upstream after dark to pick up the boy has been one of my treasured experiences.
(not my pic, one free from internet)
Theirs' quiet a few. One here in the Midwest is Rush Arkansas. An old mining town as many ghost towns are. free primitive NF campground adjacent to it and other premiere hiking.
I think this is the best arch in Missouri. Though the natural tunnel at Bennett Springs SP, though not an arch is great. The natural tunnel is the length of a football field and big enough to drive a car through. Have you done it?
Yes hiking after dark is a new experience. Quiet peaceful. It is amazing how quick you eyes get accustomed to low light after you turn off your headlamp. In fact hiking under a full moon is almost like day hiking.
