Woodall Mountain, Mississippi high point, elevation 806 feet, is located near Iuka, Mississippi in the far northeast corner of the state. This hill is privately owned, but is open to the public. It is located just of the highway and is a short walk.
Likewise my tallest peak is a little over 14,000 ft. I have to watch elevation sickness at about 9,000 ft. If I don't get my heart rate up I can keep going, so just have to go painfully slow, about 1.5 mph
Driskill Mtn is the highpoint in the state of Louisiana. It is only 535 ft above sea level. This is the lowest highpoint I have been to. The trail is a 1.8 mile out and back. It is private property but open to the public. It is located in the NW corner of the state.

Yes all public. This area is rich in nice hikes. Visiting this jewel, do the 3.5 mile loop trail, camp free at the campground, and then travel just south here and hike the 3 mile indian rock house trail makes a wonderful trip. Indian rock house is special scenic area.
Yes, a large number. None will disappoint. All total, I have spent about two weeks accessing trails off the road. Pic attached is Stephen's arch 14th largest in the world. the arch is about 200 ft wide. I hiked to it to stand underneath.
