Day Hiking Bulge Hole waterfall hike

I've been wanting to do this hike for years now! I thought it would be a harder hike than it turned out to be, it was a lot of fun. I'm definitely coming back here to hike more.

    Trekking Poles

I use 1 trekking pole for hiking in the Midwest, 2 when I hike in the mountains. I use 2 trekking poles for trail runs over 14 miles long. I use cheap Wal-Mart poles for hiking and black diamond poles for running.

    Snacks

GU energy gels are good! The caramel ones are good during the summer and the chocolate in the winter. I think I ate around 15-20 of them at the Shawnee Hills Trail Races this year!

Longs Peak is near Denver, Co. The Keyhole route is the easiest way to get to the top of the mountain, which was a great experience!

    First Aid Kit

I don't carry anything I don't know how to use, so I got tweezers, scissors, tape, wipes, antiseptic ointment and a lot of bandages. Only thing I've ever used was the tweezers, I got a bad splinter under my fingernail at High Knob in the SNF.

Aside from hiking...what else do you get into?

Hoosiers Hidden Hikes kinda got me started caving. I'd always liked caves, and I met a caver in the FB group that helped me get started.
