How many mountains have you climbed?

I love hiking in the mountains! This is a picture of me climbing South Arapahoe Peak. It's just a bunch of really steep hiking until you get to the summit, and then you turn around and go back the way you came. I've never hiked in the mountains in the winter, I'd like to sometime.

    Last Hike of 2024

My last hike in 2024 was the Hoosier's Hidden Hikes wilderness exploration group hike. We explored a section of Hoosier National Forest that isn't in the guidebook. We found cave formations growing in a rock shelter and a couple other nice spots. It was about a 7 mile hike.

Saltshake Rock is very close to HNF, OnX shows it being on the edge. Whoever owns it doesn't mark the boundary, no purple paint or signs.

Should Solo Hiking and Backpacking Be Discouraged for Safety Reasons?

I like being alone in the woods, it's given me a lot of freedom to explore where I want to go. I did a group hike last year, and I'm doing another one this year. Maybe I'll do more.

Hiking Trail Recommendations in California & San Diego

Mt. Whitney is the highest mountain in the contiguous United States, Mt. Shasta is a 14er too. I've heard class 3 is harder in California than in Colorado.

    River to River Trail

The blazes are there, they are just easy to miss! The braided nature of some portions of the trail can be confusing, some of the work arounds have work arounds! Idk how blazes would help with that.
