The ice looks beautiful on the bluffage! I had a meeting with Forest Service the other day. Once they get the roads cleared everywhere, they'll start to assess and work on trails. I'm sure it will be a multi-organizational effort.

    Trail closures

How do you feel about trail closures? I'm not talking about temporary ones, either. I'm talking about trails that have been closed for good. Do you know of any? Have you ever hiked on any before they were closed? Was there any that you didn't get the chance to hike on?

Do you wear blue jeans hiking?

Blue jeans or denim, in particular, have always been on the "no-no" list for hiking apparel because it doesn't breathe well. Do you wear them hiking anyways? I do sometimes when we go for a quickie after work.

    All Terrain Hiking Boots

I used to not wear waterproof boots, but wet feet when it's really cold is really rough. I use Oboz Boots now.

    Thru-Hiking or Day Hiking

Day hiking for me. Thru-hiking is too much of a commitment right now. Day hiking is easier to do. A few overnights are good to throw in as well :)

    Trying anything new this year?

Overnight backpacking is very fun. It's interesting to listen to nature when the sun goes away.
