Food leftovers and Leave No Trace

Some people say apple cores, banana pills, and stuff like that should be carried out when hiking. How do you feel about this Leave No Trace idea? For it or against it? Feel free to elaborate.

Show us a bridge on the trail!

Not a natural bridge :) But a man-made bridge :D (Attached: Tunnel Hill State Trail, NORTH)

What state high points have you hiked and their elevation?

That's nice. If I had the time, I'd love to bike to every high point!

    Fire-starting kit

Candles are a great idea. If you have to put up a quick tarp to keep the rain off you, a candle might save your hands for warming up!

What state high points have you hiked and their elevation?

Nice. Very cool. Private or public land?

    Do you like elevation gain?

Usually, if you want to see the good stuff, you're going to have to go on hillier trails - that's for sure!

    Fire-starting kit

That's a great kit! You have everything you need to start a fire with that. :) Cottonballs with candle wax on them can also help.

Day Hiking Palo Duro Canyon SP, Texas

I could see where they would easily mistake him as a mountain lion!

    Do you like elevation gain?

I find it safer to go up than down for the most part.

    Snakes

Snakes a pretty chill. I think movies and TV make them out to be way worse than they actually are. Now, I've had rattlers get defensive and rattle at me, but I've never seen one strike.

    Fire-starting kit

I have waterproof matches. You can dip them in water and snow and they'll still strike up and light. They almost look like mini incense! I also carry a feral rod with me. I can use my pocketknife to create sparks. I always have a stick of fatwood with me too for dry kindling if I need it.

Day Hiking Palo Duro Canyon SP, Texas

Great pics!! I have to admit though, it looks like prime territory for a mountain lion to be in LOL
