Thru-hiking popularity loss?

Is thru-hiking losing its popularity?

I see less and less people in our community wanting to go thru-hiking. I mean everything is so expensive these days. It would cost you a lot more to thru-hike now than it would have 10 years ago.

It seems like after the pandemic, prices skyrocketing for everything.

What do you all think about this topic? Do you agree or disagree?

You're right about everything getting more expensive whether it's gear, food, supplies along the route, travel expense to get to the point of departure.

It's crazy that they try to squeeze every cent they can from you, even when it comes to enjoying something that should be mostly free!
