Post a photo of an old tree you've found while hiking.

Pictured: Tree at Mantle Rock that was a sampling (supposedly) when the Trail of Tears migration was occurring.

Former Missouri State Champion American Beech (Fagus grandiflora), Southeast Missouri State University River Campus (former St. Vincent's College), Cape Girardeau, Missouri, taken on 27 October 2014. Unfortunately this huge beech tree was removed in July 2023 due to disease and decay causing it to be unsafe. It was estimated to be 200 years old, had a height of 109 feet, a circumference of 209 inches (about 17 feet), and a spread of 97 feet.
